This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

A caring family is seeking a reliable and attentive respite care provider to support their child during after-school hours and summer days in their family home located in Green Bay. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working one-on-one with children, is patient and focused, and is comfortable learning basic monitoring related to diabetes care.
 
Location: Green Bay, WI (Child's Residence)
Schedule: Up to 20Hr/Month, Flexibly scheduled based on the availability below
School Year Availability: Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri | 4:00 PM-7:00 PM
Summer Availability: Weekdays | 10:00AM-1:00PM
Compensation: $15.22 per hour
 
Child Interests:
He enjoys having some relaxed time after school to unwind before evening routines like dinner, homework, and reading. On days when his blood sugar levels fluctuate, he may feel stressed or anxious. A patient and understanding provider who can offer reassurance and keep him comfortable will be key to a successful relationship.

Can help him stay focused during activities
Is attentive and engaged
 
Ideal Provider Qualities:
Good with numbers and attentive to detail (understanding high/low blood sugar readings)
Can stay focused and engaged during care
Enjoys working with children and building trust during fun activities
Is patient, observant, and responsible
 
Responsibilities:
Monitoring the child’s diabetes pump and blood sugar readings (training provided – medication administration is not required)
Assisting with low blood sugars if needed and knowing when to contact mom
Helping the child settle down after school
Providing homework support and checking in on assignments
Supervising play and ensuring general safety
Engaging in board games, focus activities, and fine motor skill games
Encouraging limited screen time and participating in fun, structured activities
 
Requirements:
Valid driver’s license/Reliable vehicle/Auto insurance
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Ability to Pass a Caregiver/Criminal Background Check
