This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

We are seeking a compassionate and attentive Youth Respite Provider to support a young boy with Down syndrome in the Kronenwetter area. This role involves providing one-on-one care and supervision in a structured, supportive environment that promotes safety, emotional regulation, and positive engagement.

The ideal candidate is calm, patient, and proactive, with a genuine commitment to helping children thrive through consistency, encouragement, and gentle guidance.

Pay: $17.66/hour
 
Work Location & Schedule
Location:
o Greenheck Adventure Camp (first 9 weeks)
o Camp Sturtevant through the YMCA (final 3 weeks)
Schedule: Flexible; determined in coordination with the parent
Must be available during camp hours
 
Key Responsibilities
Provide consistent one-on-one supervision to ensure the child’s safety during all activities
Support emotional regulation by responding calmly and effectively to behavioral challenges
Encourage participation and engagement in camp activities
Foster a structured, nurturing, and positive environment
Maintain clear and ongoing communication with the parent/guardian
 
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will:
Demonstrate a calm, observant, and safety-focused approach
Have experience working with children with developmental disabilities or sensory needs
Be comfortable supporting both active play and quiet/regulation periods
Possess skills in de-escalation, redirection, and following established care routines
Be patient, compassionate, and adaptable
Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with families
 
Requirements
Ability to pass a caregiver/criminal background check
Authorization to work in the United States
Reliable transportation and strong attendance
