This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

We are seeking a reliable, experienced, and compassionate Specialized Childcare Provider to support two young autistic boys in their home environment before and after school. The boys are verbally limited and may exhibit challenging behaviors when emotionally dysregulated. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting neurodivergent children, understand the importance of emotional regulation, and be able to offer a calm, patient, and positive presence.

Schedule: Up to 8 hours per week – schedule to be developed with you and the family.

Responsibilities:

ACTIVE caregiver that enjoys movies, games on phones and tablets, and cartoons.

• 1:1 safety supervision-line of sight always - Elopement is a concern.

• Assist with regulation techniques during heightened behaviors which can be aggressive

• Ability to set firm boundaries that are beneficial to the child to assist with managing behaviors

• Assist with daily living tasks: changing, bathing, meal prep, feeding, and basic household chores

• Provide emotional and behavioral support, engaging child and encouraging appropriate behaviors.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience working with special needs/Autism Spectrum, behavioral disorders.

• Prior experience managing frequently erratic behaviors that can be aggressive.

• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.

• Must be at least 18 years of age at the start of employment.

• Must be comfortable with pets in home. Family has dog in the home.

• Willing to undergo background check before hire.
