JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Technical Business Analyst leads efforts to gather, define, and translate complex business requirements into actionable Business Intelligence (BI) solutions that support strategic decision-making. Serves as a key liaison between business operations, the BI team, and IT, ensuring alignment across data, systems, and reporting needs. Champions data quality through advanced QA practices and proactive issue resolution. Develops deep expertise in enterprise systems and business processes to inform BI architecture and solution design. Influences the BI roadmap and facilitates cross-functional collaboration to ensure scalable and sustainable solutions. Mentors junior analysts and contributes to BI best practices and standards.

 
JOB DUTIES

  • Lead stakeholder engagement sessions to elicit, document, and prioritize complex reporting and analytics requirements
  • Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications for BI developers and data engineers
  • Oversee and perform advanced QA on BI outputs, including root cause analysis and resolution of data discrepancies, using Power BI and SQL
  • Act as a strategic partner to IT, ensuring data architecture and system integrations support BI initiatives
  • Maintain deep knowledge of internal systems, business processes, and data flows to support solution design and troubleshooting
  • Manage intake and prioritization of BI requests, ensuring alignment with business goals and resource capacity
  • Guide user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure stakeholder feedback is incorporated into final deliverables
  • Monitor Power BI workspaces for organization, access control, and governance compliance
  • Develop and maintain documentation for BI processes, data definitions, and reporting standards
  • Communicate complex data insights and technical concepts to executive and non-technical audiences
  • Stay current with BI trends, tools, and technologies to inform strategic direction and continuous improvement
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts and team members
  • Demonstrate leadership in cross-functional initiatives and data governance efforts
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
 
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, advanced degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a Business Analyst role within a data-driven or enterprise environment
  • 3–5 years of experience working with Power BI and SQL in a support-related role
  • Strong SQL skills for data validation and analysis
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and managing stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours, if needed, to meet the job requirements
  • If working remotely, employee must provide their own reliable internet services 
  • Ability to pass a background screening
 
The incumbent typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 20 pounds.
