This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

Job Posting:
We are seeking a patient, kind, and emotionally supportive respite provider for a young girl in Eau Claire. She would benefit greatly from one-on-one connection with a trusted adult who can serve as a positive role model and friend outside of her family. She is currently working toward greater independence and values having someone she can talk to/have fun with openly.

Schedule: Flexible and to be planned in advance with the provider. Preferred scheduling availability for Tuesday afternoon and weekends. Open also on Thursday and Friday afternoons.

Child’s Personality & Interests:
  • Very intelligent, witty, and curious
  • Enjoys learning, structured activities, and predictable routines
  • Ice cream
  • Toys and imaginative play, reading, cooking
  • Indoor and outdoor activities (always open to trying new things)
  • She has an Action City Fun Pass, which can be used for community outings.
  • She thrives with strong adults who provide direction, positive reinforcement and encouragement, and one-on-one attention
Ideal Provider Qualities:
  • Not easily frustrated or reactive
  • Understands that the child may test limits to see what she can get away with
  • Able to provide firm but compassionate boundaries
  • Enjoys engaging in fun activities and conversation
Areas of Focus:
  • Building a trusting relationship through shared interests and consistency
  • Encouraging independence while keeping expectations small and achievable
  • Supporting emotional regulation and self-confidence
  • Hygiene reminders/assistance may be needed if care extends to overnights
  • Helping her navigate frustration and disappointment in a supportive way
Requirements:
  • Valid driver’s license/Reliable vehicle/Auto insurance
  • Comfortable having care within the respite provider's home
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to pass a Caregiver/Criminal Background Check
