This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

A family in the Wausau area is seeking a dependable and positive individual to provide part-time mentorship and support for a young man. This role focuses on being a supportive presence, helping him stay engaged in positive activities, and offering guidance through everyday interactions. This young man is homeschooled, so scheduling is flexible regarding both days and times. He enjoys both spending time at home and going out to socialize. He describes himself as an “introverted extrovert,” meaning he values quiet time but also enjoys engaging with others and participating in activities outside the home.

Pay: $14.13 per hour
Hours: 8 hours per week (flexible schedule)

Responsibilities:
Spend quality time with the client and provide positive mentorship
Help keep individual engaged in safe, constructive activities
Accompany individual on walks or community outings as appropriate
Encourage healthy coping strategies when needed (DBT skills a plus!)
Provide general guidance and model good life skills

Ideal Candidate:
Patient and supportive
Mature and boundary oriented
Outgoing with a good sense of humor (a “jokester” is welcome!)
Confident, with strong personal boundaries
Comfortable serving as a positive mentor and role model
Handy or knowledgeable about cars, mechanics, or construction (preferred)
Someone who shares similar interests and can teach practical skills

Qualifications:
Valid Driver’s License
Reliable Transportation
Clear Background

If you enjoy mentoring youth, have practical skills to share, and can provide a supportive and engaging presence, this could be a great opportunity to make a meaningful difference.
