This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

Respite Provider

Location: Eau Claire, WI

Schedule: Part-time, approximately 15 hours per week

Pay: $14.13 per hour

Position Overview

We are looking for a patient, energetic, and reliable Respite Provider to support a child in the Eau Claire community. This role involves spending quality time together in the community while engaging in fun, active, and safe activities the child enjoys.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one respite care in community settings

• Engage the child in preferred activities such as:

o Action City
o Swimming (life jacket required; Chaos Water Park)
o Playing soccer and baseball

• Ensure safety at all times, especially during community outings

• Support transitions between activities using cues and countdowns

• Help manage frustration with calm, patient redirection

• Encourage positive social interaction and fun, age-appropriate play

About the Child

• Speech delay

• Can become easily frustrated and benefits from patient support

• Has difficulty with transitions

• Elopement concerns (requires close supervision)

• Enjoys being silly, playful, and having fun

Required Qualifications

• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

• Experience working with children with Autism and PTSD

• Ability to provide consistent supervision and follow safety plans

• Patient, dependable, and attentive
