This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

Respite Care Provider – Eau Claire, WI
Make a meaningful difference while supporting a bright, imaginative young boy.

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and patient respite provider to offer care and supervision for a young boy in the Eau Claire area. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with curious minds, building trust, and creating a calm, supportive environment.
 
Position Overview
The respite provider will offer a blend of overnight support and occasional daytime hours, providing care in the provider’s home and helping with community-based outings. This role focuses on safety, structure, and building a positive relationship with the child.
 
Schedule & Compensation
Overnights
6 overnights per month
Rate: $207.45 per overnight
Additional Weekly Hours
Approx. 5 hours per week (as needed)
Rate: $14.13 per hour
 
Care Settings
This role includes support in:
The provider’s home (primary care environment)
Community settings such as parks, libraries, or local activities
 
Key Responsibilities
The respite provider will assist with:
Personal cares (basic support as needed)
Meal and snack preparation
Ensuring safety and consistent supervision
Offering calm, gentle prompts or reminders
Supporting enjoyable activities or outings

This young boy thrives with caregivers who are patient, encouraging, and willing to engage with his interests. He is:

Nonfiction books
Space, planets, and astronomy
Numbers, math puzzles, and patterns
Music—with a special love for playing the drums
 
Preferred Qualities in a Provider
We are looking for someone who is:
A patient, thoughtful communicator
Comfortable supporting a child with autism-related behaviors
Able to provide clear structure and positive reinforcement
Warm, calm, and reliable
 
Requirements
To ensure safety and compliance:
Pass a caregiver background check (required prior to hire)
Valid driver’s license
Reliable, safe transportation
