Family Support Specialist – Supporting a Toddler in Eau Claire, WI

Help a curious, joyful toddler thrive in a safe, nurturing environment.

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable Family Support Specialist to support a toddler girl with both daily care needs and medical-based supports. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys one on one caregiving, understands the importance of gentle routines, and can balance playtime with essential caregiving tasks.
 
Position Overview
The Family Support Specialist will offer consistent, attentive care in both home and community settings. This includes supporting developmental play, ensuring safety, and managing daily routines and medical needs. Training can be provided for all medical tasks.
 
Schedule & Compensation
Hourly Rate: $17.66 per hour
Overnights: $256 per night
Weekly Hours: Approximately 8 hours per week
Overnights: 2 overnight shifts per month

Primary Responsibilities
The respite provider will assist with:
Personal care: bathing, toileting, transferring, dressing
Meal preparation and help with feeding
Medication administration
G tube care and operation
Monitoring and managing oxygen equipment
Light housekeeping to maintain a clean, safe environment
Engaging play, companionship, and developmental interaction
 
Ideal Candidate Profile
A strong candidate will:
Have experience with toddlers and/or medical caregiving
Be patient, gentle, attentive, and responsive
Be comfortable learning to use medical equipment (training available)
Be reliable with strong follow through and consistency
Meet the family’s health requirements, including annual COVID and flu vaccinations
Hold a valid driver’s license
Carry active auto insurance
Have a reliable vehicle for transportation
Successfully pass a caregiver background check
