IN-HOME RESPITE PROVIDER NEEDED – Chippewa Falls, WI

We are seeking a calm, compassionate, and consistent Respite Provider to support a teenage boy who would benefit from structure, positive interaction, and a peaceful environment. Care will take place in your home, offering the family time and space while ensuring he is safe, supported, and engaged.

SCHEDULE:
  • 10 hours per week
  • 4 overnights in your home per month (Potential for every other weekend)
  • Very flexible scheduling

WAGE:
  • $14.13 per hour
  • $200+ per overnight

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide 1:1 supervision and encourage independence
  • Help him go somewhere calm and safe when needed
  • Support positive behavior, coping skills, and accountability in a patient and respectful way
  • Offer consistent engagement—conversation, activities, and supportive interaction
  • Create a low-tech environment with limited screen use
  • Encourage outdoor activities when he’s interested (fishing, walks, simple projects, nature time, etc.)
  • Provide calm transitions and avoid interrupting him abruptly

ABOUT HIM:
  • He benefits from time away from home to give everyone space
  • Responds well to calm, predictable interactions
  • Enjoys video games but we would like him to refrain from screen time within your care
  • Enjoys outdoor activities —walks, hiking, fishing, gym/parks, building projects
  • Thrives in quieter, low-stimulus environments
  • Large crowds, loud noises, and frequent directions can be overwhelming
  • Does best with providers who are patient, steady, and calm
  • Appreciates when expectations are clear and when he’s included in decisions
  • Responds well when adults help him stay accountable in a positive, consistent way, with encouraging behavior

IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • Patient, relatable, and calm
  • Confident in supporting behaviors with kindness and consistency
  • Creative in keeping him engaged
  • Enjoys outdoor activities or simple hands-on projects
  • Can provide a peaceful, low-noise environment
