This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

Structured Youth Respite Provider

We are looking for a caring, patient, and understanding respite provider who is confident in supporting children with varying behavioral needs and can offer consistent structure. The ideal provider enjoys outdoor activities, imaginative play, and creating a warm, safe environment.

The child enjoys hands-on, outdoor, and imaginative activities and benefits from predictable routines and clear expectations. Safety-focused supervision is important due to mild behavioral concerns and occasional mimicry of a sibling’s behaviors.
 
Location: Pick Up in Eau Claire, WI - Care to take place in provider home
Starting Wage: $17.66/hour and $256/"Overnight" (anything over 8 hours of care)
Schedule: Planned in advance with parent based on mutual availability
 
Key Responsibilities
Provide consistent, safety-focused supervision at all times.
Maintain a highly structured and routine-driven environment to promote stability and reduce behaviors.
Engage the child in developmentally supportive activities, including pretend play, turn-taking, and social skill practice.
Support the child’s interests with thoughtful, hands-on activities (gardening, pet interaction, etc.) within safe boundaries.
Assist with toileting needs, following parent guidance.
Provide a safe and comfortable independent sleeping space for overnights.
Camera use in common areas is recommended for safety and transparency.
Communicate clearly and consistently with the parent regarding schedule updates, progress, and any concerns.
Provide care in a child-safe, welcoming, and structured home environment.

Barbies and pretend play
Practicing turn-taking
Playing in the dirt and outdoor exploration - Working on education with gardening

Requirements
At least 1 year of childcare experience.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass a caregiver and criminal background check.
Willingness and passion for working with children with special needs and behavioral needs.
Strong communication skills, patience, and a nurturing approach.
Ability to implement clear boundaries, structure, and predictable routines.
