This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Child Respite Provider to care for two young elementary school-aged brothers with autism. This position involves supervision in the home and support with daily routines and emotional regulation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working with children with special needs, behavioral support, and safety supervision.

The boys enjoy: games, going to parks, stuffed animals, watching movies and cartoons, and water/sensory play.

Schedule: 8 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive supervision (line-of-sight required due to elopement concerns)

• Assist with daily living activities, including toilet training, hygiene, and self-care routines

• Support emotional regulation and behavioral needs using calm, consistent strategies

• Set and maintain firm, consistent boundaries that promote positive behavior and safety.

• Engage the child in his preferred activities in a safe and nurturing manner

• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding daily routines and progress

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities

• Knowledge of positive behavior support strategies and sensory needs

• Ability to remain patient, calm, and flexible

• Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and auto insurance

• Willing to undergo and pass background check prior to hire

• Comfortable with pets in the home (1 dog)
