This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

IN YOUR HOME RESPITE PROVIDER FOR 2 CHILDREN  – Augusta, WI

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and reliable Respite Provider to support a sibling set with high emotional needs. These children have experienced significant trauma and may become emotionally dysregulated. This role provides a safe, structured, and nurturing environment outside of the family home, giving the parents essential time away while ensuring the children continue to feel supported and secure.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who is calm under pressure, experienced in trauma-informed care, and able to provide individualized attention in a home setting.
 
SHIFTS & HOURS
5 hours per week during the week
Weekend care every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
Weekend shifts take place in your home
Flexible schedule possible based on family needs
 
COMPENSATION
$17.60/hour for weekday shifts
$200+ per day for weekend shifts
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide consistent supervision in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment
Monitor emotional regulation and respond appropriately to emotional escalation
Offer trauma-informed care, patience, and emotional support during challenging moments
Engage children in healthy, age-appropriate activities that promote connection and stability
Follow individualized care plans and safety protocols provided by the family or support team
Communicate openly and effectively with parents/guardians about the children’s experiences, moods, and activities
Build trust and rapport with the children to foster a sense of security and positive relationships
Adapt activities and approaches to meet the children’s emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs
 
IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are seeking someone who is:
Compassionate, patient, and emotionally resilient
Experienced in working with children who have experienced trauma
Skilled in de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed care strategies
Flexible and able to adapt to changing needs and behaviors
Attentive to safety, boundaries, and structured care routines
Able to create a warm, nurturing environment while maintaining clear expectations
Comfortable providing care in a home setting and communicating with parents/guardians regularly
 
REQUIREMENTS
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Must pass a background check
Prior experience in caregiving, child support, or trauma-informed care preferred
