This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

RESPITE PROVIDER FOR 2 CHILDREN – Eau Claire, WI

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and energetic Respite Provider to provide one-on-one support for two lively brothers in Eau Claire, WI. This role is perfect for someone who loves working with children, enjoys a flexible schedule, and can adapt to changing needs in a home environment. As the main Respite Provider, you will play an important role in supporting the kids’ growth, safety, and daily enjoyment.

ABOUT THE CHILDREN
These two brothers are full of personality and curiosity. They enjoy a wide variety of activities, including:
Puzzles, games, and video games
Creative projects like arts and crafts
Learning about trains, elephants, and other fun interests
Outdoor play and active games

They thrive with a caregiver who can engage with them positively, provide gentle guidance, and help redirect energy when needed. Connection, patience, and enthusiasm are key to making this a successful and fun experience for both children.

SCHEDULE & HOURS
5–10 hours per week, mostly on weekends
Saturday shifts (every other week or as needed)
On-call and flexible scheduling options – you can collaborate with the family to create a schedule that works for everyone
Weekend coverage is a priority, but flexibility is appreciated for weekday support as opportunities arise

COMPENSATION
$17.70 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide safe, supportive, and engaging supervision for both children
Offer activities that are age-appropriate, fun, and creative
Redirect behavior when needed, ensuring positive reinforcement and structure
Build rapport with the children, fostering trust and emotional connection
Maintain a flexible, calm approach while adapting to changing routines or needs
Encourage independence while ensuring safety at all times
 
IDEAL CANDIDATE
We are looking for someone who is:
Friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic
Patient and understanding, especially when children are frustrated or energetic
Flexible and able to change gears quickly
Comfortable working in a home setting and occasionally in the community
Able to maintain a fun, engaging, and safe environment
Someone who values connection with children and understands the importance of building trust
Supportive of all families, including LGBTQ+ families

REQUIREMENTS
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Must pass a background check
Previous experience in caregiving, child care, or respite is preferred but not required
