This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

We are looking for a caring, experienced individual to provide respite care for a teenage girl in Wausau, WI.
As a respite provider, you will play an important role in offering support, mentorship, and positive engagement with the teen while her primary caregiver takes time for essential self-care.
The ideal candidate will be patient, dependable, and able to motivate the teen to help her thrive.  
This teen enjoys horses, music, movies/tv, swimming and taking walks.

Location: Wausau, WI
Wage: $17.66 per hour
Hours: 20 hours per week
Preferred respite days: Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays with 3pm start time.

Responsibilities:
    • Provide direct support, always ensuring her safety. 
    • Communicate effectively and professionally with the teen and her family. 
    • Create firm boundaries but still be kind and empathetic. 
    • Be present and engaging while participating in activities that are meaningful to the teen.

Skills:
    • Be consistent and confident in your abilities
    • Have experience working with youths with mental health issues
    • Able to use redirection/de-escalation techniques

Qualifications:
    • Age 18 or older with HS Diploma or GED.  
    • Valid Driver’s License, Reliable Vehicle, and auto insurance
    • Willing to work with the teen in the community or your own home. 
    • Previous respite experience preferred with teens with mental health issues. 
    • Family prefers FEMALE providers.
