This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

This young man is on the Autism spectrum - experience with special needs individuals is preferred but not required. He is a very smart, funny, curious, and energetic young man. Respite will start in the family home and once comfortable - will go into the community. 1:1 would work best for him to start - open to integrating other children in time.

Pay: $17.66/hour (after tax rate)
Location: Child resides in Eau Claire, WI - Respite to take place in their home/community
Schedule: 16 hours/week available - M, W, F (morning/afternoon) - 4 hours/day

Enjoys:
•  Tv/movies/characters: PJ Mask, Paw Patrol, SpongeBob
•  Activities: Swimming (Loves water), climbing, Legos & building blocks, cooking, drawing, painting, board games, going to the park, skating rink, library, etc.

Personality:
• Smart, curious, funny, determined, independent – shy & attached (separation anxiety). Energetic, patient, kind, and calm. He likes people, school, and learning but can sometimes be more of an introvert. He loves being outside but may prefer to be inside at times (temperature control)

Misc:
• Can require a lot of emotional energy
Mom’s favorite thing about them: He can be very sensitive sometimes – his kindness

Key Responsibilities:
• Foster an open and communicative relationship to build trust and help him feel comfortable.
• Help him stay busy and engaged with activities to maintain an active lifestyle

Ideal Candidate:
• A kind, patient, and energetic individual who can maintain a safe and fun environment
• Open to regular communication with the family and adaptable to a changing schedule.
• Experience with special needs individuals is preferred

Personal Cares:
• Restroom reminders & assistance

Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Willing to undergo a caregiver background check upon hire
