This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.


We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Teen Respite Provider to spend time with an energetic teenage boy with special needs.  As a Teen Respite Provider, you will be responsible for the teen’s safety and well-being while allowing the main caregiver to take a break for self-care.  This teen enjoys being outdoors, carnivals/fairs, music, playgrounds, and swimming/water play.

Location: Wausau 

Wage: $17.66 per hour

Hours:

  • 10 hours per week; 3x per week 3:30pm to 6 or 6:30pm. 
  • Potential for additional hours providing backup coverage on Saturday and Sunday afternoons to early evenings from 1pm to 7pm. 

Responsibilities:

  • 1:1 Constant Supervision to prevent elopements
  • Assistance with ADLs: dressing, eating, and toileting  
  • Community Outings 
  • Meal/Snack preparation
  • Pick up from program location 
  • Take to weekly therapy appointment 

Requirements:

  • Must have a clean background check 
  • Valid Driver's license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance 
  • Experience working with non-verbal teens with autism  
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Be detail oriented and prepared to give all attention to the teen  
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Be fast on your feet and ready to keep up!
