This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

Part-Time Respite Caregiver – Green Bay, WI
Pay: $14.13/hour
Location: Green Bay, WI 54304
Schedule:
We’re looking for someone who has flexibility throughout the week. The primary schedule would be Monday through Thursday evenings after 3:00 p.m. (typically 1–2 hours each evening), Sunday mornings, and occasional additional hours as needed. There may also be times when support is needed overnight for a few hours if Leland has difficulty sleeping due to sleep apnea. A minimum commitment of 10 hours per week is preferred.

About Child
Child is a fun, energetic, and loving young boy with autism. He is nonverbal, potty trained, and absolutely loves being active. If you’re someone who enjoys staying busy, being outdoors, and having fun, you’ll fit right in.
Some of child's favorite activities include:
  • Running, jumping, and playing outside
  • YMCA programs
  • Bible study and church activities
  • Tumbling
  • Music and dancing
  • Exploring new places and staying on the go
Child does have a tendency to elope (run unexpectedly), so his safety is our biggest priority. We’re looking for someone who is very observant, aware of their surroundings, physically active, CPR certified (or willing to become certified), and able to keep up with a fast little guy when needed.

Responsibilities
  • Provide attentive supervision both at home and in the community.
  • Transport and support child at activities such as the YMCA, Bible study, tumbling, and other community outings.
  • Encourage play, learning, independence, and social interaction through fun and engaging activities.
  • Assist with meals and snacks while encouraging him to explore new foods, understanding that he can be a picky eater.
  • Support his potty-trained routine as needed.
  • Maintain consistent communication with our family about his day, activities, behaviors, and any concerns.
  • Follow child's routines while helping create a safe, positive, and structured environment.
  • Be prepared for occasional schedule changes or overnight support when needed due to sleep difficulties related to sleep apnea.

Qualifications
  • Experience working with children, preferably children with autism or developmental disabilities.
  • Patient, dependable, and emotionally mature.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Physically active and able to keep up with an energetic child.
  • Strong awareness of safety, especially regarding elopement.
  • CPR certified (or willing to obtain certification).
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Dependable, punctual, and committed to showing up consistently.

Who We’re Looking For
More than anything, we’re looking for someone who wants to build a long-term relationship with Child. Consistency is incredibly important for him, so we’d love to find someone who plans to stay for the long haul. Our hope is to find someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with children, loves to laugh, play, be active, and become someone child knows and trusts. We want this person to feel welcomed and valued in our home and to become a familiar, dependable part of Leland’s support system.

If you’re compassionate, energetic, dependable, and looking to make a meaningful difference in a child’s life, we’d love to hear from you.
