This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Respite Provider to support a young boy in Eau Claire, WI. This role involves providing care both in the member’s home and out in the community. The ideal candidate is patient, attentive, and enjoys creating a safe, structured, and engaging environment for a child who benefits from consistent support and active supervision.

Compensation
$17.66 per hour
$256.00 per day
 
Key Responsibilities
Provide attentive supervision and support in both the home and community settings 
Engage in recreational activities, both in-home and in the community
Participate in community outings using available passes, including:
o Children’s Museum
o Chaos Water Park
o YMCA
Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment at all times
Provide close supervision due to elopement concerns (individual may attempt to run from supervision)
Stay alert and responsive in community environments to ensure the child remains safe and within appropriate boundaries
Respond appropriately to behavioral needs using approved strategies and training
Support redirection and safe stopping techniques if the child attempts to elope or run
 
Qualifications
Patient, reliable, and proactive with a strong commitment to quality care
Comfortable working in a pet-friendly home environment
Experience with individuals with behavioral support needs preferred, but not required
Background in crisis intervention, de-escalation, or behavioral support is highly desirable
Training in safe physical intervention techniques is a plus
Experience with seizure care is preferred
 
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
Ability to provide close supervision and respond quickly to elopement risk situations
Ability to safely support an individual who is physically active and larger in size (up to approximately 200 lbs)
Capability to perform approved physical interventions in accordance with training and safety protocols
Physically able to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods in both home and community settings
Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
Ability to pass required background checks
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Additional Information
This role includes both in-home respite care and community-based activities. Consistent supervision is essential due to elopement concerns, as the child may attempt to run and requires immediate redirection and safe stopping when necessary. While not physically aggressive, the child is active and requires a provider who is confident, attentive, and able to maintain safety in dynamic environments.
