This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

Child Respite Provider
Job Location: Wausau, WI
Pay: $14.13/hr
Hours: Up to 20 hours per week

We are looking for a fun, patient, and trustworthy individual to spend time with our energetic and curious child, providing engaging activities and giving both him and our family a healthy break.

Role Focus:
Taking him out on activities (outdoors, play, learning-based fun)
Supporting safety, transitions, and positive behavior
Being an encouraging, calm presence

About Him:
Very active and loves being outside
Plays hockey
Fascinated by the Titanic (can share a lot of detailed knowledge!)
Enjoys learning: science, math, sensory play, slime, coloring
Loves cooking and helping in the kitchen
Big on imaginary play and storytelling
Enjoys construction equipment (especially excavators)
Loves water-based activities
Does well with other people and in public settings
Transitions can be challenging, so creativity and strategy are important when it’s time to leave activities

What Works Best:
Calm communication (he does not respond well to yelling or harsh “no’s”)
Clear expectations, patience, and flexibility
Someone who enjoys staying active and engaged

Ideal Candidate:
Flexible, patient, and dependable
Strong communicator
Fun, active, and creative
Experience with children with special needs is a plus

This is a meaningful role for someone who enjoys building relationships, being active, and supporting a child’s growth in a positive, respectful way.
