This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

Respite Care Provider Needed | $14.13/Hr

We are seeking a patient, kind, and emotionally supportive respite provider for a young girl in Eau Claire. She would benefit greatly from one-on-one connection with a trusted adult who can serve as a positive role model and friend outside of her parents. She is currently working toward greater independence and values having someone she can talk to/have fun with openly.

The ideal provider will be calm, consistent, and able to set gentle but firm boundaries while offering encouragement and praise.

Location: Provider’s home and community-based settings (potential for building hours with overnights)

Schedule: Flexible and to be planned in advance with provider - Open Scheduling for: Tues, Thurs, Fri afternoons and Weekends

Compensation: $14.13/Hour

Ideal Provider Qualities:

• Not easily frustrated or reactive

• Understands that the child may test limits to see what she can get away with

• Able to provide firm but compassionate boundaries

• Enjoys engaging in fun activities and conversation

Child’s Personality & Interests:

• Very intelligent, witty, and curious

• Enjoys learning, structured activities, and predictable routines

• Ice cream

• Toys and imaginative play, reading, cooking

• Indoor and outdoor activities (always open to trying new things)

• She has an Action City Fun Pass, which can be used for community outings.

• She thrives with:

o Strong adults who provide direction
o Positive reinforcement and encouragement
o One-on-one attention

Areas of Focus:

• Building a trusting relationship through shared interests and consistency

• Encouraging independence while keeping expectations small and achievable

• Supporting emotional regulation and self-confidence

• Hygiene reminders/assistance may be needed if care extends to overnights

• Helping her navigate frustration and disappointment in a supportive way

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license/Reliable vehicle/Auto insurance

• Comfortable having care within the respite provider's home

• Ability to Pass a Caregiver/Criminal Background Check
