This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

We are seeking a compassionate, attentive, and reliable Youth Respite Provider to support an incredible 12-year-old with autism. This role involves providing one-on-one care in the child’s home, with a focus on safety, emotional regulation, and the creation of a structured yet nurturing environment.

This is a part-time position designed to give the parent occasional support and relief a few times per month. Scheduling is flexible and arranged in advance.
 
Schedule:
Flexible, scheduled in advance with the parent
Primarily evenings after school
Occasional weekends and summer hours
 
Key Responsibilities:
Provide attentive, one-on-one supervision during all activities (indoor and outdoor)
Support emotional regulation using calm, consistent, and patient approaches
Engage in age-appropriate activities such as walks, scooter rides, movies, and video games
Encourage positive social interaction and routine-based structure
Maintain clear, open communication with the parent
 
Ideal Candidate:
Calm, observant, and safety-focused
Experience working with children or teens with autism or sensory needs preferred
Comfortable balancing active play with quiet, supportive downtime
Skilled in de-escalation, redirection, and following established routines
Patient, compassionate, and adaptable
Strong communicator who values collaboration with families
 
Requirements:
Ability to pass a caregiver/criminal background check
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Reliable transportation and strong attendance
